Arizona Down Payment Assistance

Arizona Home Plus: Down Payment Assistance for Arizona Buyers

One of Arizona's most popular programs — covering up to 5% of your loan amount for down payment and closing costs. Find out if you qualify.

What Is the Arizona Home Plus Program?

The Arizona Home Plus program is a state-sponsored down payment assistance (DPA) program offered through the Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH). It pairs a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage with a grant or second mortgage that covers 3–5% of the loan amount — money you can use toward your down payment or closing costs. Unlike many assistance programs, Home Plus does not require repayment as long as you stay in the home for a qualifying period.

How the Assistance Works

1

Get Pre-Approved

Work with an approved lender (like Amber Tanner) to get pre-approved for a Home Plus mortgage.

2

Complete Homebuyer Education

Take a short online homebuyer education course — typically 4–8 hours and available 24/7.

3

Find Your Home

Shop for a qualifying primary residence in Arizona within the program's purchase price limits.

4

Close & Receive Assistance

At closing, the DPA funds are applied directly — no out-of-pocket down payment required in many cases.
